Well show you how using both the original Quickshade Dip and the dipping method as well as how to apply our Quickshade Washes. If you're leaning on Quickshade to most of your shading you may lay it on thicker. I do some shading before using quickshade so use a light shade and I brush it on fairly thin, about the same thickness as you'd use to varnish wood. It will dry a little lighter and clearer than it brushes on. Quickshade will settle into the crevices of your model and bring the shade in. Buy a bit of mineral oil to clean your bushes with after you use quickshade and rinse them thoroughly after you clean them. DO NOT DIP YOUR $20 BRUSHES IN QUICKSHADE. Quickshade products arent inks, theyre pigmented varnishes (really theyre a miniatures-industry-approved clone of the MinWax PolyShades urethane product sold as a floor finish). I spread on quickshade with a firm cheap brush. I don't dip, mostly because it's messy (Use a big drop cloth where you use this stuff) and because you're almost surely going to need to brush off excess quickshade anyway. You have to mix the devil out of it before you use it or the stain will separate. Quickshade works best at room temperature or warmer (Don't cook it). Glass pens never shade the same or look like my fountain pens. Its quick to clean out, and it gives me the most accurate look at what a real pen will look like with the ink.
